EXPERIENCE
The Bulletin (Summer 2009) | Daily Publication | Snowden Photo Intern
I was one of three photographers selected from a pool of 60 applicants in the state of Oregon. I spent three months working in a professional, daily newsroom five days a week. The internship was paid and I received a two week extension after the scheduled internship had concluded. Responsibilities included photographing community events, portraits, architecture, features and high school sports.

I began working at the Emerald as a video intern, compiling two video packages a week. I was hired as a staff photographer my sophomore year. I worked as the photo editor during my junior year, managing a staff of five photographers and forming the strategic vision of the visual content. I moved to the multimedia desk my senior year, turning around two multimedia packages each week. The 2009 Emerald staff won the Associated Collegiate Press Pacemaker Award.

During 2007, I worked as a staff photographer. I served as the photo editor for the Spring 2008 issue, managing a staff of photographers and preparing their images for print. In 2010, I worked with the magazine’s first web staff to bring the magazine online.

I worked to write and photograph my own story. The 2009 staff won the Associated Collegiate Press’s Pacemaker Award in the magazine category.
SKILLS
I have a strong technical and artistic ability with still and video production equipment. I’m fluent with Adobe Photoshop and have a strong understanding of Adobe’s Creative Suite 5. I have a working knowledge of Final Cut Pro, Audacity, and Soundslides.
I’m also fluent in HTML and CSS. I can read and understand some PHP and Javascript.
