- SUN CITY, AZ - Early morning worshipers sit on lawn chairs and blankets in the early morning light to celebrate Easter with a tradition nearly lost. Roughly 350 Sun Citians marked the fiftieth anniversary of the original Easter sunrise service at the Sun Bowl outdoor amphitheater. Roughly 350 people gathered to mark the date. - SUN CITY, AZ - Pastor John Cockram of Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church recites his sermon, "Go Quickly and Tell" during the Sun City sunrise Easter service. Sun Citians marked the town's 50th anniversary with the service and revived a tradition nearly lost. It had been a half century since the last sunrise service. Sunday, April 24, 2011.
- EUGENE, OR - Sophomore Zoe Mullendor holds up the "U-Day" balloon arch as organizers tie it to the light posts over the University of Oregon's 13th Ave. light posts. The "U" stands for University Day, an annual festival celebrating the school's culture and roots. Organizers lead clean ups, mulching and plant a tree to mark the day. Thursday, May 13, 2010.
- SUN CITY WEST, AZ - Men from Sun City West's American Legion Post 94 salute to the flag during a Memorial Day ceremony at Sunland Memorial Park. The colors were presented by Greenway High School's Junior ROTC. The somber ceremony featured the presentation of the flag, a rendition of "Echo Taps" and a speech by Colonel Jeffrey Weed, Vice Commander of the 56th Fighter Wing at Luke Air Force Base. - GLENDALE, AZ - Chaplin Stephen Prusinski plays "Amazing Grace" for Judith Hill at Banner Thunderbird Hospital. Prusinski plays 30 minute sessions at the hospital to help patients relax and heal. "It's difficult for some people to feel good because of their situations," Prusinski said. "People in darkness want to be shown that light." Friday, November 5, 2010.
- GLENDALE, AZ - Volunteer Marcy Lorenz, left, spreads paint as her classmate's shadows fall to her right. Mountain Ridge students repainted Ethyl Reyes' house for the Rock and Roll Paint-A-Thon. The event matches those 60 year of age or older living in single family homes with a group of volunteers looking to help. Saturday, October 23, 2010.
